it would be impractical and a waste of taxpayer money.

the school will be closed soon, its gonna cost the taxpayers enough for the new schools, an unnessary gym is just piling on.

if she wins, the BOS is in for a wild ride.
she is obviously not qualified to run for this position, from what ive seen of the meeting shown on the local access tv station.
Pay attention...I like you. The elementary school is going to expand to hold the 8th grade. They need a gym. It is the same old story ...you just proved my point. As long as it is not you or your little special group it is OK.

Powell Valley's Primary school just got a new gym why not play the games there if they are all about saving money? They knew this was going to happen they could've built that gym bigger to accomodate more people. Play the games at the school(s) wherever they are and lets try to be one not two. If the adults will mind their own business the new PV/Appy school has a chance to be really dominate in single A athletics, we'll be the largest single A school in the state. I think everybody wants our kids to achieve, lets give them the opportunity. All you have to do is drive to Ben Hur to see an overall screwup in athletics.

I will say that from what I've seen school pride has somewhat died down in Lee County. I know of only a handful of people that are my age that care about Lee High athletics, while almost everyone I know from PV/Appy male or female know whats going on with the athletics in their town. I don't think will face the same problems they did due to travel, PV and Appy are two miles apart hopefully both towns get behind the kids, depending on when the school is built they will have an opportunity to really shine early athleticially.

spuds i understand your concern as an appalachia citizen, but do you not kind of understand where the other side is coming from?

i mean, i take it as the pvps will be the site for the new ps anyway, with the huge gym and all that money spent there, whats wrong with that? they are gonna remove all the PV stuff, itll be a totally new school.

it may just be two-three years now man, i just see it as trying to prolong whats already in motion.

I don't care where they play the varsity games- the elementary school is not going to close, the primary school is not going to close. the kids should have a full size floor to play on. I don't care if it seats more than a couple of rows of folks, just enough for p-nut sports. But, as long as it is not in one of the Queen cities- no one cares, right?
